An Overview

Skin allergy is a common condition in the worldwide population. Although this is a popular skin disease, you should not underestimate it because it may have a lot of impact on your life. With mild conditions, the disease causes some discomfort to the patients, such as itching, fever, etc. But with severe conditions, skin allergy may leave the scar or skin color changes.

1. Honey:

Honey contains high amounts of water, this may provide moisture and the necessary nutrients to the skin to make it become healthier, and at the same time, this helps to limit skin dehydration[3]. It additionally embraces powerful immunoregulatory and antimicrobial activities that may promote the healing of rashes caused by an allergy and provide instant relief from redness and itching.

2. Oatmeal:

Oatmeal has an anti-inflammatory effect, but some people with sensitive skin may have some reaction with oatmeal. Therefore, those who are sensitive to oatmeal can ignore this way. As we mentioned above, when you are allergic to the skin, moisturizing the skin is very important, and oatmeal can help you do that. Oatmeal contains saponins, which help cleanse, moisturize and remove dead cells, so you can use it as a facial cleanser to remove dirt and viruses that damage your skin.

3. Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is abundant in anti-inflammatory activities, which may help to heal the skin, improve wound healing, and treat minor burns and rash skin itching[16] [17]. It is also plentiful in anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents, which are very good when used to treat acne, skin diseases, healing of skin lesions, and skin allergy.

4. Baking Soda:

Baking soda is alkaline and acts on the skin to restore the pH value of the affected area. This is useful in treating certain kinds of rashes to speed up its healing time.

• Mix a fairly thick paste of water and baking soda by adding the required amount of ingredients and mixing them well in a cup.
• Spread the baking soda paste on the affected area of the skin.
• Let it stay for about 10 minutes before washing it off.
• Do it several times a day for relief from irritation.

5. Coconut Oil:

Coconut oil is one of the safest home remedies for skin allergies in babies and children. It has moisturising properties, thanks to its medium-chain fatty acids which are helpful for dry, scaly skin allergies. It also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties which make it a wonderful remedy for many skin conditions.

6. Tulsi (Holy Basil):

The medicinal properties of tulsi have long been known in India. It exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties that can effectively protect the skin from infections. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce swelling and itchiness, making it effective in getting rid of skin allergies naturally.

• Pick a handful of tulsi leaves and wash them thoroughly.
• Grind the leaves in a blender until the consistency is fine.
• Apply the paste over the affected area.
• Leave it on the allergy-affected region for about 30 minutes before washing it off.
• Repeat the routine few times a day for relief.

7. Tea Tree Oil:

When it comes to the skin, tea tree oil offers numerous benefits. Owing to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities, this oil provides immediate relief from itchiness and inflammation and prevents further infection. When rubbed on your skin, it will fade away the fungi or bacteria responsible for the rash.
Add the tea tree oil to any carrier oil of your choice and mix well. Apply this oil mixture topically to your affected skin and wash the application off after 30-60 minutes. To get the satisfied results, reuse this treatment 3-4 times daily.

8. Petroleum Jelly (Vaseline):

Using petroleum jelly is one of the effective home remedies for skin allergy. It can create a protective layer on your affected region and inhibit further microbial infections. In addition to this, it helps to keep the skin moisturized, thus facilitating its recovery.
Get a little petroleum jelly at first and then apply it directly to your affected areas. Keep it on and reapply as needed. Try this method for 1 to 2 days until your symptoms begin disappearing.

9. Cold Shower:

A cold bath helps reduce skin irritation and allergies. A cold shower helps your blood vessels to shrink and doesn’t allow histamine to come out. It also reduces the severity and skin irritation of the allergic reaction.

10. Medicinal Plants and herbs (Aloe Vera, Neem, Basil, Calendula, Coriander):

Aloe Vera is a great choice to manage allergies as it possesses strong antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-irritant properties. The fleshy gel of aloe soothes allergy.

Use neem, basil, and coriander leaves to make a paste and apply it on the affected parts. Leave it for an hour and then rinse it with water. These are good to clear off allergies. Do not use soap or cleansers.

11. Milk and banana:

Mash the banana and mix milk and basil oil to it to get a thick paste.
Apply it all over the face and other affected areas.

While banana moisturises and nourishes the skin, basil oil hinders bacterial infection and curb itching, redness and dryness, leaving the skin with a natural glow

12. Only Green Tea:

You grind some green teas and apply it to your skin allergy. Leave 5 minutes and rinse your skin allergy with water.
Method 2: Green Tea And Salts
• Take 20 grams of green tea leaves, 3 tablespoons of salt and 500 ml of water.
• Rinse the green tea leaves and boil them with water.
• After boiling, let the green tea cool down and add the salt.
• Use the mixture to soak your skin allergy area.
• Grind the neem leaves in a blender until the paste has a fine consistency.

13. Neem leaves:

Neem is another popular herb used extensively in India for its medicinal properties. It can alleviate redness, swelling and itching due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Neem is also a natural antihistamine, which is why it is used in home remedies for skin allergies on the face.
• Apply the paste over the affected area and leave it on for 30 minutes.
• Wash the paste clean and repeat it 3-4 times a day until you see improvemen.
