Home remedies for Stretch marks

1. Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is a plant that helps regenerate skin tissue and as such it has miraculous healing properties. Take the fresh gel from the leaf and massage onto the area with stretch marks and leave on for 20-30 minutes. Do it daily and wash off with tepid water.

2. Sugar:

Sugar is used as a natural exfoliant for skin. It is one of the best home remedies to get rid of stretch marks. Take a tablespoon of sugar. Add some drops of almond oil and lemon juice in it. Stir it well and apply directly on the stretch marks. Rub it for 8-10 minutes and then, take a shower. Continue to use it for one month or so, until the stretch marks gets fade out.

3. Vitamin A:

Vitamin A is referred to as a retinoid. Retinoids make skin appear smoother and more youthful. They’re used in many over-the-counter topical cosmetic creams. Simply using a topical extract of vitamin A, or taking vitamin A orally, can contribute to your skin’s health and overall appearance. A diet rich in certain foods, such as carrots and sweet potatoes, might also help you increase your vitamin A levels.

4. Water:

Water is known for carrying oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body. To prevent skin from various problems, drinking water helps a lot. To get rid of stretch marks, a well-hydrated skin is required in order to allow regular detoxification of skin pores. It is the quickest remedy to heal stretch marks. Drink 10 glasses of water daily to make skin soft and maintain a hydrated body.

5. Olive Oil:

Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and nutrients, which are effective for skin disorders. For healing stretch marks, warm the olive oil slightly. Rub it gently on the affected area. With this, the blood circulation will improve and stretch marks will get reduced.

6. Cocoa Butter:

Cocoa butter has a moisturizing effect on the skin, although one study found that it had no significant impact on reducing stretch marks. Several formulas of ointments for stretch marks containing shea butter, cocoa butter, and vitamin E showed conflicting results.

7. Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice is other easy treatment for stretch marks. The acid present in lemon juice helps in reducing stretch marks, acne, skin injuries, and scars. Take out juice from some lemons. Massage it gently for 10 minutes in a circular motion on the stretch marks. Clean the affected area with warm water.

8. Shea Butter:

Shea butter is a natural emollient (2). Hence, it can keep your skin moisturized. This moisturizing effect may help improve the appearance of stretch marks over time.

9. Apple Cider Vinegar:

This remedy has no scientific backing. ACV is a popular home remedy, and anecdotal evidence states that it can help improve a lot of skin issues, including stretch marks.

10. Coconut oil:

Since stretch marks are scarring from skin damage, coconut oil might help heal the appearance quickly. Coconut oil for its healing properties and was found in rats to reduce the time it takes for skin wounds to heal.
Applying virgin coconut oil to your stretch marks each day might take away some of their red appearance. Unless you’re allergic to coconuts, this oil is considered safe.

11. Vitamin E:

Vitamin E helps to stabilize the skin barrier and has an anti-inflammatory effect. It also helps to keep the skin soft
1. Squeeze the liquid from the vitamin E capsules.
2. Massage it onto the affected area. Do not wash off.
3. Leave it on overnight.

12. Lemon juice:

There is no scientific proof supporting the efficacy of lemon juice for stretch marks. Anecdotal evidence claims that it may help fade scars as it appears to have a bleaching effect on them. You may try this remedy if you don’t have sensitive skin.

13. Stretch Mark Removal Creams:

One of the best natural remedies for stretch marks is stretch mark removal creams. Creams do not remove stretch marks completely. However, they reduce their appearance so much that they are barely visible. Stretch mark removal creams contain a lightening agent in the ingredients that helps to lighten the appearance of stretch marks. The best stretch mark lotions contain some healing agents, such as hyaluronic acid that helps to heal the ugly marks from the inside out.

14. Stretch marks Essential oil:

Essential oils are other effective natural remedies for stretch marks. Each essential oil has regenerative properties that hydrate the skin, improve flexibility and slows down aging. Since essential oils are usually highly concentrated, it is important that you mix them with a carrier cream or oil before application. Some examples of carrier oils include primrose, jojoba, apricot and almond.

15. Coffee Scrub:

The granular texture of coffee grounds has an exfoliating effect on the skin. It is believed that exfoliation may make the skin smooth and fade scars. However, there is no scientific proof that scrubbing might help treat stretch marks.
1. Mix the coffee grounds and shea butter well.
2. Massage the scrub gently on the affected area for 5 minutes.
3. Wash it off with warm water and apply a moisturizer.

16. Breast Milk:

Anecdotal evidence suggests that women who tried applying breast milk on their stretch marks during the postnatal period found it to be effective in fading them.
1. Massage/rub the breast milk on your stretch marks.
2. Let it dry. Leave it on.
